Combat engineers (or bombers) taking a key bridge or factory out could change huge swaths of strategic options.<br /><br />What are the strategic abilities of chess pieces? Knight's ability to jump over units. The ability of the king and the rook to castle. The pawns capture en passant. Enemies couldn't walk through them, and couldn't attack them.
