The whole game will be geared towards giving the player the illusion of choice, in a linear structure."

Well, now it's clear why they went out of business. ;)

I find it particularly annoying that they made a conscious decision to wait until half way through the game to split the plot. I realize that splitting at the beginning doubles the amount of work, but it's rather annoying to have to play the first half all over again to try the other path. (I wonder if any game has ever offered to let the player start back at the place when the fork occurs...)

It also seems strange to me how the doc seems to be trying to sell the idea of the game to the developers. (Or maybe the decision makers, which would make more sense, actually...) Either that, or they expected the document to be leaked 5+ years later...Ryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17574626231451600275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11758224.post-37864432024227087012009-03-09T04:51:00.000-07:002009-03-09T04:51:00.000-07:00Yeah, I've played it. At every corner, it stops and asks whether to turn right or left. This doesn't actually give you a better game! It gives you a worse game!

That's exactly what Killer 7 does. Which in no way contradicts your point. :)John Neskyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02886423674873513147noreply@blogger.com
